Annual Town Meeting: March 3, 2013
About 130 residents packed the old Lovell Town House for the Annual Town Meeting. One of the issues was the election of Selectman, in a race that pitted incumbent John (“Turf’) Ramsden against challenger Rosie McKenzie. A secret ballot was held, with residents lining up to place their written ballots in the Ballot Box, and the end result was that ‘Turf’ held his seat for another three years. Also re-elected was Ron McAllister as Code Enforcement Officer. Former Planning Board 1st Associate Member Kevin McDonald was elected to fill Bill McCormick’s position as Member for five years. Patrick Williams was elected as 1st Associate Member of the Planning Board, and Meg Dyer was elected as 2nd Associate Member.
Welcome To the Lovell Website!:
Welcome to the Lovell Town Web Site! We hope you will visit this site, and visit us in person. We are a town of about 1000 residents (in the winter), with two libraries, and no stop light. We include North Lovell, West Lovell, Center Lovell and Lovell Village—don’t know what happened to East Lovell or South Lovell…
On this (home) page you will find timely information relating to our town, which will draw you into the web site. Below is the important information having to do with contacts, hours of operation of various offices, and links to web sites (town office, Maine State government, property tax maps, and to the webmaster for comments or suggestions about the Town of Lovell web site).
Above the slide-show of photographs are links that will take you directly to the other pages in the web site (General Information [including the important Calendar], Officers & Committees [which include minutes of Selectmen, posted weekly], of the Planning Board [posted monthly], and of other committees which meet less regularly), Lake and Ponds, Departments and Organizations). Notice that many pages are accessed by way of drop-down menus from the main links. Hold your cursor on the main button, then slide it down to the place you want to go, and click it. Try it out!
- We encourage you to send photographs, comments, articles of general interest and other items that you would like to see on the website. That link can be found HERE.
- The purpose of the web site is to provide contact with your town officials and the many organizations in town for the benefit of citizens, taxpayers and visitors to Lovell.
